Machine Translation
Machine Translation
Machine translation is the process of using artificial intelligence to automatically translate content from one language (source) to another language (target) without any human intervention. It works by using computer software to translate text from one language (source language) to another language (target language).
Different Approaches to Machine Translation
In the evolution of this technology, four different machine translation approaches have emerged:
-
Statistical Machine Translation (SMT)
Uses statistical models and bilingual corpora for translation -
Rule-Based Machine Translation (RBMT)
Uses grammatical and lexical rules of source and target languages -
Hybrid Machine Translation
Combines different approaches to improve translation quality -
Neural Machine Translation (NMT)
Uses deep neural networks for more fluent and natural translation
